Mint Plumbing & Relining were called to investigate ongoing sewer blockages under a unit in a residential block. The owner had repeated drainage issues, and suspected tree roots in the pipes were the cause. Quick action was needed from a reliable Randwick plumber.
Inspection Findings: Tree Roots and Pipe Displacement in Sewer Line
A CCTV inspection showed significant root intrusion into multiple joints of the old terracotta sewer line. The roots were causing blockages and grey water leaks. Several sections of pipe were displaced, compromising the line.
Our Solution: Jetting and Epoxy Pipe Relining for
a Long-Lasting Repair
We jetted out the remaining roots, then used CCTV to measure and install an epoxy-coated pipe liner. The liner was inserted with a rubber bladder, inflated and steam cured to seal all intrusions and repair the pipe without digging. This pipe relining method avoided the need for digging and ensured a long-lasting repair.
A final CCTV check confirmed the repair was successful, with no leaks or root access. The site was cleaned, and before and after footage was provided to the owners’ committee.
The Outcome: Sewer Line Restored
The sewer line is now fully restored and flowing freely. We recommend a follow-up CCTV inspection to ensure continued performance.
