We attended a property in Bellevue Hill to investigate a blocked drain, which had caused significant issues with the toilet. Upon arrival, we found that the drain was severely blocked due to tree root infestation.
Our team:
- Removed the toilet to gain direct access to the drain
- Used high-pressure water jetting to clear the blockage and remove tree roots from the line
- Inspected the drainage system and reinstalled the toilet once the line was cleared
During the investigation, we discovered that tree roots had entered the drainage line through multiple joints in the original terracotta pipes. The line also showed signs of dislodgement and cracking at several points, which were allowing the roots to infiltrate the pipework.
With the blockage cleared, we’ve restored the flow for now, but we recommended addressing the underlying pipe issues to ensure long-term, reliable drainage.
